Pastor Poindexter faithfully serves with her husband, Bishop Carver E. From their union, Bishop and Pastor Poindexter have four children, all of whom are actively involved in ministry. With an exceptional love for souls, Pastor Poindexter has raised more than 20 children over the past 30 years through foster care and adoption. Pastor Poindexter continues to invest her time, wisdom, devotion and personal finance into helping orphans, prisoners, widows, and countless others.

Pastor Poindexter fervently demonstrates her commitment and dedication to God through her tremendous impact in people's lives. In her years as a layperson in the church, Pastor Poindexter began to walk out her calling as an evangelist of lost souls, by going door to door and witnessing to young adults in her community, bringing in over 30 children into the church at one time! This group of young people came to be known as the Sunshine Band. These children have now grown to become Pastors, First Ladies, Evangelists, Missionaries and Ministers of Jesus Christ.

Among her many outstanding acts of service and courage is the establishment of the HIM (Helping Inmates through Ministry) Program, which she founded in 1996. This program provides a means of rehabilitation and restoration for young men who are incarcerated or were recently released from prison, assisting them in transition to being an asset to their community and to the Kingdom of God. This program also provides guidance and equips them to overcome their past and embrace their God-given purpose.
