You Are Blessed!
1 John 2:5-6 – But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as he walked.
During the early years of the world, God looked down upon Noah and saw him as the only bright light in an exceedingly wicked and evil world. God saw Noah as a “just and perfect” man in his generation. Although God decided to flood the earth to rid it of the wickedness, he saved Noah and his family. The words “just and perfect” together mean “genuine righteousness.” What an awesome testimony Noah had, especially since he lived this way even before the promised Savior, Jesus, was born.
We are again living in a very wicked world. Unlike Noah who didn’t know Jesus, we should be even more capable of living a righteous life because we know the Savior has already come and overcome this world. Because of Jesus’ sacrifice, we don’t have to struggle against the evil of the world. As a result, we can strive to ensure that our walk with God and our relationship with Him is consistent and improving. In Hebrew, the word “walk” is “halak” and means “continual pattern of life or a constant relationship with God.” If you’ve accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you should be working on a daily improvement in your halak. How do you do that? First, spend time with God daily through prayer. Ask God through His Holy Spirit to help you with your walk. Next, read your Bible regularly so that you can learn how to separate yourself from the sins of the world. It is also important to repent regularly and to forgive those who sin against you. Also love everyone as the Father has loved us. It takes too much energy and time to hate anyway. Finally, realize that no matter what you may be going through right now, you are blessed if you have Jesus as your Lord and Savior. |
